Pavers Shoes has joined the DigiProd Pass pilot program to explore the implementation of Digital Product Passports (DPP) in the footwear sector. As a Carbon Neutral certified brand, Pavers is now looking to the next frontier in sustainability: traceability.
Through this pilot, we are helping Pavers transform their footwear into smart, traceable assets. Using our Digital Product Passport (DPP) platform, each product will be linked to a digital record accessible via QR code, and Pavers will be able to verify material origins and sustainability claims while empowering customers with care and repair instructions to extend product life.
Most importantly, this partnership allows Pavers to prepare for future UK and EU regulations with a secure, audit-ready data system. This isn’t just about technology; it’s about making sure every step you take in a pair of Pavers is a step toward a better planet.
This pilot program was born from our partnership with SATRA, the world-leading research and testing organisation. As a long-standing SATRA member, Pavers Shoes has always prioritised technical excellence and rigorous testing.
Recognising the upcoming challenges of the EU’s Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), SATRA officially introduced Pavers to DigiProd Pass to bridge the gap between physical product quality and digital traceability. By combining Pavers’ retail heritage and our Digital Product Passport (DPP) technology, we are creating a "gold standard" for the future of the footwear industry. This introduction by SATRA ensures that the pilot is grounded in industry-recognised standards from the very start.
The success of this pilot lies in the synergy between heritage retail expertise and cutting-edge digital transparency:
Pavers has always been a family-led business built on trust. As the first major UK shoe retailer to achieve Carbon Neutral International Certification, we see Digital Product Passports as the natural next step. By partnering with DigiProd Pass, we are not just preparing for future regulations; we are giving our customers the transparency they deserve, allowing them to see the journey behind every pair of shoes they buy.
— Dexter Lynch, Quality and Technical Manager, Pavers Shoes
The benefits of a Digital Product Passport go far beyond compliance; they are a powerful tool for building a deeper connection with the consumer. We are excited to support Pavers in transforming their products into smart assets. By documenting the journey from material sourcing to end-of-life, we are together supporting the repair, reuse, and remanufacturing efforts that define a truly circular economy.
— Sohag Salauddin, Managing Director, DigiProd Pass Ltd.
With the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) on the horizon, the footwear industry is entering a new era of accountability. This pilot allows Pavers to lead the UK market, proving that even a large-scale heritage retailer can achieve full traceability without compromising on the comfort and quality their customers love.
