DigiProd Pass is partnering with Instagrid, a professional-grade, reliable, sustainable battery solution provider, in a strategic pilot to implement a Battery Passport across their products and operational workflows.
The collaboration brings together Instagrid’s professional-grade, generator-replacing portable battery systems and DigiProd Pass’s battery passport and traceability platform to capture and structure battery-specific data in a way that is usable, consistent, and scalable. Instagrid positions its systems as “no more generators—powerful, sustainable and reliable power on demand,” while DigiProd Pass focuses on enabling the creation and sharing of structured Battery Passports.
The pilot aims to demonstrate how transparent battery data can reduce documentation burden, improve consistency across battery records, and strengthen sustainability and compliance narratives with clear supporting evidence.
As per battery regulation ( 2023/1543 )Products containing batteries are subject to requirements around material origin, composition, performance, and lifecycle information, and companies are expected to support battery-related sustainability claims with verifiable, structured data, not static documents as represented by a digital record, namely Digital Battery Passport ( DBP ) These DPPs s should be designed to address: providing a standardised, accessible single source of truth for battery data, covering what a battery contains, how it performs, and how it can be serviced, reused, or recycled.
The Instagrid–DigiProd Pass pilot focuses specifically on introducing DBP, while validating the operational model needed to keep battery data accurate over time.
The pilot will examine:
Scope: Selected Instagrid batteries. -powered product
Data attributes and template preparation: Defines the required and optional battery data for the Digital Battery Passport and how it is structured. This includes battery identification, technical, compliance, and sustainability data. A standardised template ensures consistency, regulatory alignment, and future scalability.
Data collection and processing: Examines how battery data is collected, validated, and maintained over time. The pilot addresses fragmented documentation, manual reporting, and inconsistent records by testing digital data flows that create a single, trusted battery record across the lifecycle.
Solution development: DigiProd Pass will structure the Battery Passport model and workflows, while Instagrid validates how battery data can be captured from real operational processes, manufacturing, service, and support, and maintained throughout the battery lifecycle
DigiProd Pass enables secure Battery Passport management and controlled data sharing, supporting collaboration across battery value chains.
Instagrid brings a real-world, high-performance portable battery power use case, with advanced battery systems designed to replace generators. Its products and operational environment provide a practical testbed for understanding how Battery Passport data can be generated and maintained in day-to-day manufacturing and service contexts.
DigiProd Pass brings specialist expertise in Battery Passport implementation, supported by a purpose-built platform for structured battery data management, traceability, and regulatory readiness aligned with evolving EU expectations.
Together, the partnership connects battery performance with traceability and transparency, turning battery data into a practical asset for compliance and credible sustainability communication.
By the end of the pilot, Instagrid and DigiProd Pass aim to demonstrate:
“Battery regulations require manufacturers to manage data at a level of detail they may not be used to. This pilot with Instagrid is about making Battery Passports practical—so battery traceability supports compliance and credible sustainability claims without adding unnecessary complexity.”
—Sohag Salaudding, Managing Director, DigiProd Pass
Following the pilot phase, the partnership will evaluate:
This collaboration highlights a broader shift toward battery-specific transparency. As regulatory expectations and customer scrutiny increase, structured Battery Passport data will be essential for demonstrating compliance and supporting credible sustainability communication.
By combining Instagrid’s real-world battery systems with DigiProd Pass’s Battery Passport infrastructure, the pilot shows how early collaboration can help manufacturers prepare for upcoming requirements in a practical and scalable way.
