SATRA (the Shoe and Allied Trades Research Association), an independent organisation internationally recognised for its product testing, certification, and research, particularly across footwear, PPE, and consumer goods, is partnering with DigiProd Pass on a pilot programme exploring the use of Digital Product Passports (DPPs).
This collaboration opens an opportunity to explore DPP implementation within compliance-heavy manufacturing environments. These sectors are characterised by detailed standards, testing regimes, and certification requirements, making them well-suited to evidence-led approaches to product data and transparency.
“Recognising that incoming DPP requirements represent one of the most significant regulatory shifts for the sectors we work with, SATRA is committed to leading the way. We are delighted to collaborate with DigiProd Pass and some of our members to work towards practical, scalable solutions that safeguard product integrity and support a circular economy,” said Michael Bodsworth, COO, SATRA.
SATRA brings technical expertise and long-established credibility in product assurance, with extensive experience supporting manufacturers and brands through testing, certification, and standards-led compliance across global supply chains.
DigiProd Pass contributes its Digital Product Passport platform, designed to support structured, interoperable product information that can be maintained over time and shared with relevant stakeholders in line with emerging policy and regulatory expectations.
Together, the partners aim to demonstrate how Digital Product Passports can support a single, lifecycle-aware view of verified product data, without disrupting established compliance processes.
“This pilot brings together diligent technical evidence and the growing need for accessible, decision-ready product data,” said Sohag Salauddin, Managing Director at DigiProd Pass. “We appreciate SATRA’s leadership in encouraging this pilot and its collaborative approach to exploring how Digital Product Passports can support both sustainability and compliance in real-world product systems.”
SATRA members interested in participating in future phases of this project are invited to register their interest.
